New Life for Old Boots
Young people from one of Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme’s Premier League Kicks sessions have been breathing new life into old football boots through their latest social action project — and now they need your help.
Over the past six months, participants have been collecting old football boots, cleaning them during their regular youth sessions, and donating them to members of the local community who need them most.
Kasey Brown, Community Coach at SWFCCP, said:
“They came up with the idea themselves and have taken real ownership of the project, from collecting and cleaning the boots to giving them back to those who need them.
Fans are encouraged to bring along a pair of boots on 17 January, when the young people will be outside the Owls Megastore ahead of Sheffield Wednesday FC’s fixture against Portsmouth, collecting donations. If you have an old pair to spare, please come along and help support a brilliant cause.
