Planning Permission Granted to Expand SWFC Community Facility

Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme (SWFCCP) is delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted by Sheffield City Council for the construction of a brand-new community sports building adjacent to its existing artificial pitch on Clay Wheels Lane.

The proposed £1.2m development follows extensive consultation with participants across SWFCCP’s wide range of life-enhancing programmes and local residents. Once completed, the facility will enable SWFCCP to expand the reach of its programme by increasing capacity for projects and provision and positively impact more lives than ever before.

Marcus Brameld, Head of Community, said: "We’re thrilled to have received planning permission for this exciting project. There is a real need for more accessible community spaces, and this new facility will help us meet that demand. It’s a major milestone that reflects our ambition to grow and deepen our impact across the city."
