Pathways to Work
The Pathways to Work project, funded by SYMCA (South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority), supports young people in overcoming barriers to employment.
Participants benefit from weekly sessions with a dedicated Employability Officer, who provides tailored one-to-one support.
Programme Support
Through the programme, participants will:
Find work that matches their skills and interests
Develop a personalised action plan to address individual barriers
Build confidence and self-esteem
Learn essential employability skills to prepare for paid work
Explore and understand progression opportunities
Improve wellbeing and resilience
Identify personal goals and aspirations
Receive support with CV writing, job applications, and interview preparation
Eligibility Criteria
To take part, individuals must:
Live in the Sheffield City Council area
Be aged 16–24 (with some flexibility for those up to 28)
Not currently be in employment, education, or training
Additional Support
The programme also provides access to funding for:
Accredited qualifications
Interview clothing
Travel expenses
Therapy and physiotherapy
Debt support
