Owls Legends Tee Off at Charity Golf Day
Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme welcomed supporters, partners and former Owls legends to Hillsborough Golf Club for a hugely successful Charity Golf Day, raising over £4,500 to support community projects across Sheffield.
Teams from across the region enjoyed a fantastic day of golf, networking and fundraising, with the event bringing together businesses and supporters to help make a lasting difference in local communities.
Former Sheffield Wednesday favourites David Hirst, Chris Waddle, Imre Varadi, Jon Newsome, Chris Turner, Daniel Pudil and John Pearson joined participants throughout the day, meeting teams, sharing stories and helping create a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
Congratulations go to Simoda, who claimed first place on the day after an impressive performance around Hillsborough Golf Club.
The Community Programme would also like to thank the event sponsors and prize donors whose generous support helped make the day such a success: Utilita Arena Sheffield, Aspen Restaurant & Bar, Luke Horton Art, Sheffield United Community Foundation and Pushkin Signs.
Funds raised from the event will help Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme continue delivering life-changing projects across Sheffield, supporting thousands of people each year through programmes focused on health, education, employability, inclusion and community development.
Matt Pierre, Fundraising & Partnerships Manager at Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme, said:
"It was fantastic to see so many people come together to support the Community Programme. Days like this are about much more than golf – they're about bringing our community together to raise vital funds that allow us to continue making a positive impact across Sheffield.
"We're incredibly grateful to every team that entered, our former players for giving up their time, our sponsors and prize donors for their generosity, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. Raising over £4,500 is a brilliant achievement and every pound will help us continue supporting people of all ages across our city."
Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme would like to thank everyone who took part and looks forward to welcoming teams back for another Charity Golf Day in the future.
