SWFC Interventions Help Esme Thrive at School

Support delivered by Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme through the Chaucer Police Partnership Fund has made a significant difference to one young person's experience at school.

Since taking part in the interventions, Esme has shown improvements across a number of key areas, including attendance, behaviour and overall wellbeing.

Her attendance has improved, with Esme now more willing to come to school and engage positively with school life. Behaviour records have also shown a marked reduction in negative incidents, including fewer behaviour points, less time spent in reflection and fewer suspensions, highlighting her ability to make positive choices.

Alongside these improvements, Esme has made excellent social and emotional progress. School staff report that she is happier, has experienced fewer difficulties with peers and is engaging more positively in the school environment.

Esme has also become a valued member of the school community, acting as a positive role model through her mature attitude, consistently high standards and willingness to support others.

The case study, provided by Chaucer School, highlights the positive impact that targeted interventions can have on young people, helping them build confidence, improve engagement and reach their potential both in and out of the classroom.
