Palmer and Cadamarteri Take Part in Show Racism the Red Card Workshop
As part of EFL Week of Action 2025, Sheffield Wednesday FC players Liam Palmer and Bailey Cadamarteri made a special visit to Hillsborough Stadium to take part in a workshop delivered by Show Racism the Red Card.
The event, organised by Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme’s Participation Department, was attended by pupils from five local schools that the programme regularly works with.
The children took part in interactive sessions focused on challenging racism and harmful stereotypes. They also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of Hillsborough Stadium and received a surprise visit from first-team players Liam Palmer and Bailey Cadamarteri. The pair joined a Q&A session, sharing their experiences and discussing the importance of standing up against discrimination.
Jonny Gilberthorpe, Participation Manager at the Community Programme, said:
“It was absolutely brilliant to see Bailey and Liam supporting the event. Educating children at this young age is crucial to building a stronger and more inclusive future for all. It was a pleasure to work with Richard Offiong & the team at Show Racism the Red Card to deliver an impactful education day for our community.”
