Post-16 Students Earn Academy Trial Opportunity

Students from Sheffield Wednesday FC Community College’s Post-16 programme recently took part in a trial match for the SWFC Academy.

Jake, Ebubechukwu, Gael and Ethan all study one of the College’s fantastic Post-16 courses and are active members of its football development programme. They have recently excelled both on and off the pitch, and their recent efforts have earned them the opportunity to take part in an academy game for Sheffield Wednesday, an outstanding achievement at this stage of their development.

Ryan Priest, Sports Tutor at SWFCCP, said:
“This opportunity is an unbelievable chance for some of our boys to go and test themselves at the highest level for their age. The boys who have been selected have excelled within their squads, showing both commitment and a high level of technique throughout the programme.”

This opportunity comes as the Community Programme and Owls Academy strengthen their youth development links, and stands as a testament to the excellent opportunities available to students studying at the Community College.
