SWFCCP Secures Partnership with Sheffield Youth Justice through the Turnaround Project.

Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme is delighted to announce that it has secured funding from Sheffield Youth Justice to support struggling young people as part of the transformative Turnaround Project.

The Turnaround Project is a three-year programme that aims to improve outcomes for young people to prevent offending and reoffending.

SWFCCP will work collaboratively with the Sheffield Youth Justice Service to provide a range of sporting activities for children and young people across SWFCCP's facilities, which aim to empower, improve confidence, self-esteem, and build positive relationships for those who attend.

Participants who engage particularly well with the programme will have the opportunity to represent Sheffield Wednesday at football tournaments and in friendly fixtures with other Football Club Community Organisations.

Ben Winter, Deputy Head of Community at SWFCCP, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Sheffield Youth Justice Service, building on our previous work through various projects over the years. Our focus is to build strong and trusting connections through sport and physical activity, while developing behavior change that can be sustained for the long term. We are positive that we already have the reputation and relationship with Youth Justice Service workers to successfully onboard young people and match them with our excellent youth sport mentors.”
