Steel City Pickleball Charity Event – Tuesday 21st April

Three Sheffield-based charities are inviting local businesses, supporters and community members to take part in a charity pickleball event on Tuesday 21st April at Peak Pickleball Sheffield.

Co-produced by b:friend, Sheffield United Community Foundation and Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme, this high-energy event aims to showcase the impact work of these three charities by bringing businesses together to socialise, have fun, connect and learn more about the local community.

Players can choose from two time slots: 12:45-15:00 or 16:45-19:00. Places can be booked for a donation of £20 per person, with all funds raised going directly to each charity to support the ongoing work across the region.

Working to tackle loneliness amongst older people, b:friend pairs caring volunteers with a socially isolated older neighbour near them for one hour a week, with a simple chat going a long way to support someone that otherwise may have no one. Bringing the older community together, b:friend’sSocial Clubs also offer the chance for local people to meet friends, enjoy a chat and take part in activities.

Sheffield United Community Foundation is the official charity of Sheffield United Football Club, harnessing the power of football to deliver bespoke programmes that tackle inequalities and provide opportunities across the city to improve people’s lives and support local communities.

Established to support the development of cohesive community provision in the wider Sheffield area, Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme is the football club’s charitable arm, with the aim of developing communities together.
