SWFCCP achieves ‘Exemplary’ grade for Premier League Primary Stars Programme!
We're absolutely delighted to be celebrating an incredible ‘Exemplary’ overall grade for our Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) programme following its latest end-of-year assessment by the Premier League Foundation.
The assessment recognised the programme’s full KPI achievement, alongside its strong approach to strategic targeting, player engagement, youth voice, impact analysis, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and safeguarding.
The report also highlighted the 'quality of support' provided to teachers and participants.
Over the past year, led by Premier League Primary Stars Co-Ordinator, Emily Priest, SWFCCP has delivered Premier League Primary Stars sessions across Sheffield, using the power of football to engage young people, support their development and help tackle a range of barriers within the community.
Premier League Primary Stars is the Premier League's primary school education programme. Funded by the Premier League through the Premier League Charitable Fund, the programme uses the appeal of football to help children be active and develop essential life skills.
Launched in 2017, and available to every primary school in England and Wales, we’re one of more than 100 professional football club community organisations across England and Wales delivering Premier League Primary Stars, supporting pupils in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.
Emily said: “I’m delighted to have achieved an Exemplary grade in our end-of-year report.
"The result reflects the hard work and dedication that has gone into making every Premier League Primary Stars session as impactful and meaningful as possible.
“This year has given us the opportunity to reflect on the impact we have had and how SWFCCP has helped bring together different areas of our community work. We’ve been able to focus on a number of different barriers and do as much as we can to support children, teachers, schools and our communities.
“It’s particularly pleasing to see the report recognise areas such as player engagement, youth voice, impact and safeguarding, alongside the full achievement of our KPIs. This is a real reflection of the commitment of everyone involved in the programme.
“I’m incredibly proud of my role with the Premier League Primary Stars Programme at SWFCCP and would like to thank everyone who has supported myself and the programme throughout the year.
“I’m excited to see what the next year brings and to continue building on the work we’ve achieved together.”
Ben Winter, Deputy Head of Community at SWFCCP, said: “This Exemplary assessment is a fantastic achievement for Emily and everyone involved in our Premier League Primary Stars programme. It's a testament to the hard work and commitment of Emily and our team.
“It’s important that we continue to understand and evidence the difference our programmes are making in our community.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to the programme over the past year. We’re excited to build on this success and continue creating positive opportunities for young people through the power of football.
“The recognition provides a strong platform for SWFCCP to build on its work throughout the next year and continue using football to create positive opportunities for children and young people across Sheffield.”
